Montgomery (Here and Hereafter, etc.) made headlines years ago when she transformed herself from Washington political columnist into a contender for the title of the next Nostradamus. In her first book in 12 years, she revisits predictions she made over the course of 15 books and offers updated information about the "shift," or planetary reorganization (including a change in the Earth's axis), to come in the next decade. Montgomery gives an overview of the material covered in her previous work: the nature of the shift, reincarnation, aliens, "walk-ins" (individuals whose bodies have been taken over by enlightened beings) and the method by which she receives her visions from the "Guides" (spirits who are active in the human sphere, but whose vibrational energy is higher, making them invisible to human eyes). She then explains why she revoked her decision to stop publishing: the future has changed, and the Guides have reported a delay in the shift (it won't happen until 2010 or 2012), pending the arrival of a walk-in president (no, say the Guides, "it is not Ross Perot"). Montgomery reassures readers that the spirituality boom (and the good graces of reincarnated "survivors of the Hundred Years' War in Europe" who don't want to see us repeat their bloody ways) will lessen the devastation she had previously predicted would be wrought by the shift. About the Author

SCOTT C. SILVERMAN, Ed.D., is the Coordinator of Orientation Programs in the office of Student Life at the University of California, Riverside, his alma mater. His professional career began as a peer mentor, and later as a teaching assistant for environmental science and first-year seminar courses at UC Riverside, where he earned a BS and MS in Environmental Science. Throughout his tenure as a student, he was a heavily involved student leader and activist, having roles in multiple student organizations, student government, peer mentoring, and in community activities, including nonprofit work. While completing his MS, he started working as a graduate assistant supporting student organizations, and separately, running a campus-based community non-profit providing support services and educational programming to college students at UC Riverside, before transitioning into his current position.In 2007, Scott earned an Ed.D. in Higher Education Administration from the University of Southern California. His doctoral research on Facebook and other online social networks, “Creating Community Online: The Effects of Online Social Networking on College Student Experiences,” was chosen for the Outstanding Research Award by the National Orientation Directors Association (NODA) in 2008. Scott continues to be involved in NODA, serving on planning committees, as a regional representative and an Associate Editor of the Journal of College Orientation and Transition. Currently, he enjoys attending campus and community events with friends and family and, when the occasion arises, decking himself out in face paint and school colors on campus.FRANCES NORTHCUTT, Ed.M., is an academic advisor and admissions reader in the William E. Ahoy there me mateys! This book showed up towards the end of journey into the FODMAP diet. I had already been (finally) diagnosed and was at the tail end of figuring out the list of many foods that cause me grief.  But I saw this title on NetGalley, thought "well more information is always good", and got a partial eArc from the publisher. I was mainly interested in the recipe recommendations and to see what other recommendations there were for combating bloat as all the doctors were disinclined or confused about how to actually treat the recurring systems that just wouldn't go away. None of the standard medication worked for me.So I ended up really liking this book as an additional resource. The particular sections that were invaluable dealt with supplements, fiber, and the research results of some of the recent studies. I do think this would be a great starting point into possibilities of bloating issues and wish I had this back in the beginning. There is even a quiz to that can help determine which conditions ye might have. So much suffering and useless medical tests could have been avoided. I do have to say that the recipes in this book were lackluster. Basically there are a couple of recipes for each type of diagnosis. So don't buy this for the recipes. But if ye experience unusual painful bloating and are at a loss as to how to get rid of it then this book might be handy. Arrr!
