Americans have been writing good DIY books for over 130 years. I have a collection.Trouble is they tend to address the how and spend little time on the why. This book is different. It's broadly split into two sections, one discussing batteries and what works best. Call this the "why". The writing is simple and there is NO jargon. That said, the knowledge is very detailed and is essential to building an effective, safe battety.The second section is the typical "how". I found it a bit simplistic for a typical hobbyist but anyone can build a Lipo using these instructions.What the book summary says is what you get. You also get useful information on the feeding, exercise and care of your pet Lipo battery

This will give any half wit person the knowledge they need to understand the battery building fundamentals. This book is written as a friend explaining the basics of lithium batteries. It teaches you the calculations needed to design battery packs a voltage ranges. The reason people are not liking this book is because battery building is not a exact constant voltage and I’m sure this confuses newbie battery DIY’ers But the book does explain this and give knowledge that there are ranges and these are not designed for every application. The book is a great stepping stone of knowledge and by no means meant to be a replacement for a electrical engineer. Use knowledge with a degree of understanding and consult an electrician if you feel uncertain with your design or if your application use area could cause harm in the event of a failure. This is also sated in the book this is a stepping stone basic knowledge book. This book gave me the knowledge I was looking for after attempting to search you tube with no luck find detailed knowledge. This book connected the dots on my understanding. I would definitely recommend this book for beginners to get the staring knowledge and concepts here to see if you wanna take the next step.

People like him have their zenith of fame and then the inevitable decline begins. I enjoyed reading the book, but some parts of it got too complicated as far as modern technology goes in locating wherever Pablo happened to be. However, that's my fault, not the autor's. Those working to bring down Pablo, could never be sure who was on his payroll. The words "thug" and "sociopath" both seem to apply towards Escobar. He could speak calmly on the telephone with family members while the screams of those he was having tortured could be heard in the background. The fact that he is gone is a benefit to humankind.

Detailed and accurate account of the rise and fall of Pablo Escobar. The writing and presentation though seem cramped and rushed. The style is more journalistic than artistic. This story read like a series of newspaper articles. The author is more concerned with getting the facts over than entertaining the reader.This is absolutely fine if you are reading just to educate oneself or to gain information: I do want to do that, but I also want a little suspense on the way and to feel more involved in the characters described.Bottom line is that I finished the book wiser, but it was a bit of a slog getting through it. A little more "novel" approach would have been good.

He takes the reader into the fascinating and twisted world of Columbian drug lords and those fighting to bring them down in the 80's and early 90's.As the U.S. government became increasingly involved in the effort to bring justice to Pablo Escobar, the Americans tasked with the mission were becoming increasingly frustrated by their rules of engagement and the rampant corruption of the local gov't. At times, it seemed the only way to make progress was to break the rules.In the end, there were a multitude of groups and government agencies involved with the hunt for Pablo. With politics, in-fighting, and corruption ever present, it is a small miracle they were ultimately successful.

The book starts with a general narrative of the background of the Andean cocaine trafficking world which was at one point largely run by Pablo Escobar. That's Part one which provides some very useful information. Part two goes into specific actions taken to bring Pablo Escobar in dead. We learn that some of what you see in Narcos is simply not true such as Escobar firing guns while much is confirmed. It's an engrossing story and Bowden's writing makes it easy reading. I enjoyed and would recommend this book to anyone interested in learning more about the life and death of Pablo Escobar.
